Whether your trip is for business or leisure, spring is one of the best seasons to visit Mexico City. The streets turn purple, covered with jacaranda blossoms, creating postcard-worthy views of the capital that can only be enjoyed during this time of year.

If you are traveling to Mexico City in spring, here are some options to help you make the most of your visit:

Flower and Garden Festival

Architects, landscapers, designers, artisans, and gardeners come together to bring the city to life. The main activities take place at the Botanical Garden in Chapultepec Park, featuring 24 workshops aimed at promoting environmental care and horticulture, as well as floral design exhibitions, garden installations created by landscape designers, and a recycled plastic installation by Danish artist Thomas Dambo.

In addition, the festival extends to the streets of Polanco, especially along Masaryk Avenue, where shops and restaurants decorate their façades and interiors with flowers to celebrate the season in one of the city’s most attractive areas.

International Fair of Friendly Cultures

If you are visiting Mexico City from April 14 to 29, this is one of the most important cultural festivals in the capital. The International Fair of Friendly Cultures celebrates the customs and traditions of different countries, with China as the featured guest for its tenth anniversary.

The fair offers cultural activities from around the world, including film, music, theater, photography, and literature. Visitors can also find art and design pieces from participating countries and enjoy international cuisine. By staying at Central Hoteles, you will be just minutes away on foot from this cultural festival, held at Plaza de la Constitución.

Purple Streets in Mexico City

Exploring the city is even better in spring. Visit some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks while enjoying the season’s characteristic landscapes. The most emblematic monuments are covered in a lilac hue, thanks to the jacaranda trees that bloom only during this time of year.

Here are some routes worth exploring:

  • Take a bike ride along Reforma Avenue to the Angel of Independence.

  • Visit Rufino Tamayo Park and enjoy a good book in Chapultepec.

  • Stroll through La Condesa and spend the afternoon at one of its charming cafés.

  • Explore Alameda Central and take photos at the Palace of Fine Arts.

  • Enjoy the view of Plaza de la Constitución from Balcón del Zócalo while discovering Mexico through its gastronomy.

This spring, we look forward to welcoming you to Central Hoteles.
